Straight from a Muslim: Who is to blame for ISIS?

the message below was posted from a friend in singapore to me on friday 14th november 2015. my friend is not the author - but is an acquaintance of the author.

the post was subsequently "deleted" due to acute religious and political sensitvities in that city-state - but i can vouch for its authenticity.

my friend made a hard copy of the post - hence when the post was removed, a copy remained.. i have removed the author's name for obvious reasons.

I have wondered about this for awhile.

It does seem that if the majority of Muslims didn't want terrorism associated with their religion, they could end the problem quickly & efficiently. They're in a better situation than anyone to stop terrorism, but they don't.

If someone from my house was harming others, I would hold some responsibility to stop them or warn possible victims. If I could stop their harmful actions, but didn't, I would be willfully supporting the abuse.

If Islam is a peaceful religion & opposes terrorism as claimed, then it should be shouldering the responsibility of stopping the terrorist.

It does seem that Muslims could end terrorism, if they wanted.

it came from a reliable source working on the warwick project.. wallkill bethel had broken ground and laid the foundation for a new recreation building.

My Explanation of God.

i am a theist & this is my version of god.. instead of using the term god, i'll use "unseen presence".. this unseen presence, is perfect in every way.

this presence is so perfect it can seem a bit boring.this perfection can be seen in the laws of science, for example gravity.. it does not sometimes work, depending on the mood of some one in the sky, it always works, perfectly.

gravity does not get angry and decide to stop working, and cause the death of innumerable living beings, it just works, through thick or thin, it is reliable.. what allows this unseen presence to remain perfect, is the fact that it does not act based on emotion, or strategy or regret.. it acts based on law, mathematical law.. this unseen presence is not partial to jews or muslims or jw's it is completely impartial at all times, to everything that exists.

but as i move into my early 50's i find i'm more and more comfortable in my thick, leathery hide.. please get it into your thick skull's that i don't insult or make snarky comments with the intent of hurting anyone's feelings.

that being said, if your precious feelings are hurt it's probably your fault for being a prissy, over sensitive drama queen who can't defend his argument.. i do actually love you all, it's just that most of the time you spineless pussies really get on my nerves!.

Having mental, emotional, & personal issues are the current fashion. If a person doesn't have some personal drama, they will manufacture something just to be part of the group.

When a person points out the obvious, without the stylish personal disorders, it offends the fashionable.

Sanity & simplicity are out of style.

A question about fading....

i understand that many on this forum are undertaking a slow fade, over months, years even.. can i ask what is the benefit of that instead of a fast fade?.

as i understand it, the elders only have to deal judicially with people who are still active witnesses, known in the community as witnesses, having contact and influence with witnesses etc.

so surely the sooner you stop attending meetings the better.

The key to a good fade is not talking about your doubts, not acting disgruntled, and not openly adopting some other belief system (religious, political, spiritual, philosophy, or conspiratorial).

Whether you're fading fast or slow, just always smile, be positive, and act excited to see every JW you see while hinting at (but not directly stating) you're dealing with depression or health problems.

Whatever you do, never say anything negative about the organization, the elders, the GB, any other Witness, or your own personal experiences.

Remember the Miranda Rights, "You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you..."

Don't give them any weapons to use against you & they will lose interest.

Astral Projection

When I was really into spirituality, I spent a lot of time with dozens of professional psychics, astral travelers, mediums, etc. I really wanted it all to be true & really got into the lifestyle.

While most were sincere, they never really said or knew anything beyond guessing and imagination. Most just want to believe and really loved the attention they receive from claiming special abilities. When they were obviously wrong, they would either cover up the error with "it happened energetically," ignore the mistake, or blame someone else.

It was no different than playing make-believe & then surrounding yourself with those playing the same game so you weren't challenged. I lost interest when I realized they might as well have been elders. It was the same mentality, the same psychology, the same politics, and often the same words.

Out of the hundreds I was around, I never met a real astral traveler, medium, or psychic. They're just people trying to be special. Delusion, emotional problems, mental illness, and frauds are all that you can expect.

so, when people post about being shunned by their friends, i've heard several posters say things like, "their friendship is conditional.

real friendships aren't conditional.".

i'm sorry, but that just isn't really true.. if you and i were friends, there are conditions.

If you care about other people, all your love & friendship will be conditional. My friendship is based on me observing, identifying, & appreciating the other person based on their personality, not about how I wish to see them.

Unconditional friendship requires you not acknowledge the other person's personality and behavior at all. Since you're refusing to see them for who they are, on what is your "friendship" based? Your friendship cannot be based the person in front of you. You have ignored that person entirely and replaced them with your own wishful thinking about people in general.

Unconditional friendship is no more than narcissism. What you want to believe is more important than the actual person.

If someone calls me a friend based on their generic opinions of all people, while completely ignoring me as I am, they can keep it. That kind of friendship sounds terribly empty & one-sided. If they're indifferent to my personality and refuse to distinguish me from any other random person, how can you call me friend? I would just be another blank space for them to project their own beliefs upon.

When I noticed that all my JW friends never took other's personality & individuality into consideration in the relationship, I realized I never had any true JW friends.
